Thank you to the Weald of Kent ploughing Association for mentioning us in an article in the South East Farmer magazine about the recent Weald of Kent ploughing match. We were very happy to support and help drivers who found the muddy terrain a challenge with traction assistance or a push as needed.

The Heart of Kent Hospice Moonlight Walk took place last night in Cobham Park, Maidstone. Our team were there manning marshal points to ensure that the walkers were able to follow the correct route, particularly once darkness fell. A good event for all!
The firework season has started as we head into Autumn. Our first this year was at Northiam where our responders manned road closures to ensure the safety of the many families enjoying the parade, bonfire and the spectacular fireworks. All went well despite Storm Amy.

A few of our team hosted members from Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response for an exchange of ideas and knowledge today. A good event, great meeting their team, and we look forward to liaising further in the future.
Our team were showcasing the work we do at the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex family open day. Lovely to see so many volunteer groups and visitors enjoying the event for this vital service.

This weekend found us at the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride. Our responders were out marshalling along the route with volunteers from Kent Search and Rescue and Sussex Search and Rescue ensuring the safety of the riders. Well done to all those riders who took part!
South East 4x4 Response responders attended the Hospice in the Weald run this weekend providing lead and sweep vehicles for both the 5k and 10k runs to keep the large number of runners and bystanders safe enroute. The images below show the vehicles waiting for the off and planning the routes to be taken.

Our Events team were at the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match this weekend showcasing what we do along with a little fund raising. Our team were soon called upon to support drivers whose vehicles were slipping, sliding or bogged down in the very muddy conditions of the car park and surrounding area. Reinforcements were called in from our South East 4x4 Response volunteers, who have vehicles equipped with all terrain mud tyres, to provide traction assistance to the many vehicles which couldn’t make progress through the mud without help. A very busy afternoon ensued supporting approximately 150 vehicles to leave the event!

Our Events team were out supporting the Deal and Walmer Transport Event this weekend. A lovely sunny day with fun had by all. A small amount of fundraising also took place to support our funding for much needed equipment. Thank you to all who supported our team!

Our team were at the Sittingbourne Carnival supporting with a road closure on the A2 to allow the carnival procession to safely take place. One of our volunteers led the procession with her 4x4, followed by a fire engine and the marching band, whilst two others towed the Sittingbourne Carnival Court and the Santa sleigh. Although out of season Santa was happy to appear on a hot day in his Christmas outfit to wave at the many families who had gathered to see the carnival procession.
