Responders were called out this morning to support Kent Search and Rescue with transport for their teams who were searching for a missing person in the Wateringbury area.

Following a call from Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR) for assistance with transport, two of our Responder teams provided 4x4 support for KSAR volunteer search teams looking for a vulnerable person during the afternoon and evening of New Year's Eve.

South East 4x4 Response teams were out most of the weekend supporting Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR) along with Kent Police, looking for a missing person in the vicinity of the Sittingbourne area. Transport was provided for the many KSAR search teams along with the search dogs, to and from woodland areas. All were extremely grateful to the Salvation Army who provided sustenance and to the Red Lion in Milstead who were happy for us to use their facilities - a great team spirit from many agencies.

South East 4x4 Response teams were out on both days over the weekend providing transport for Kent Search and Rescue teams who were searching for a missing 16 year old. Although he was not found during the search it was good to hear from Kent Police that he had been found safe and was home with parents. All on the search were grateful to the Salvation Army who served drinks and food through out the weekend.

South East 4x4 Response were out supporting Kent Search and Rescue teams with transport to and from search areas during a search for a missing person in the Cuxton area over the weekend.

A wonderful morning supporting Chatham Remembrance Parade. Our members along with members from Kent Search and Rescue volunteered their time to manage road closures to keep the parade safe on behalf of Medway Council.

Four of our team of volunteers have been out on a cold, wet afternoon and early evening supporting Kent Search and Rescue with transport for search teams, in the Strood area, looking for a missing person.

South East 4x4 Response members along with Kent Search and Rescue members had the pleasure of marshalling the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride. With over 2000 riders cycling off road for 61 miles of superb views and technical terrain, it was a long but pleasurable day ensuring a safe ride for all.

South East 4x4 Response members attending Kent County Show were delighted to be talking to visitors about the support work that we, as volunteers, undertake during the year. We have been pleased to welcome a number who have joined our team in recent months. We were thrilled to be awarded the Best Charity/Volunteer Organisation Award by the Kent County Show team; it made us feel very valued.

This week, we wish to give a massive thank you to all our volunteers, both past and present, for their unfailing support of South East 4x4 Response to ensure that we are a very successful organisation in supporting our communities in difficult times and adverse weather throughout Kent and Medway. Many organisations also rely on volunteers, week in - week out, in order to support and provide support to the many communities and organisations throughout the UK. We thank them all.
