Our teams were deployed on Friday night and again for the two days across the weekend, providing transport support to Kent Search & Rescue as their teams continued their search for a missing person in the Canterbury area.

Thank you to the Salvation Army for their support during the search.

Our Chairman, David, has given a talk to new Kent Search and Rescue members on their Induction Day.  David explained who South East 4x4 Response are and how we work with Kent Search and Rescue during searches which require transport for teams, dogs and equipment.  On occasion our responders carry out road searches and provide team protection during these call outs.

At the request of Kent County Council, responders, alongside Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, have been ensuring over 200 of the most vulnerable people in the Tunbridge Wells area have supplies of bottled water during the ongoing water issues. Our responders visited 58 addresses, checking that the residents were ok, giving water out if needed.

Our responders have been out over the past 2 days in the rain and very chilly conditions, supporting Kent Search and Rescue, in the Canterbury area. Our teams have been providing transport for the Kent Search and Rescue teams to and from a wide range of search areas.

Our volunteers have worked exceptionally hard during 2025, giving their time and vehicle use to the many events we supported during the year along with supporting Kent Search and Rescue searches, training weekends, fundraising, parish council events, self-deployments... to name but a few. Well done everyone and thank you!

Team members joined Kent Search and Rescue for a training exercise at our major sponsor, The Wright Event. Search teams were formed covering a specific area looking for clues and reporting finds back to control. The scene was then managed. Training together gives us a clearer understanding of the work that Kent Search and Rescue do to enable us to support in the best way possible. Thank you to Kent Search and Rescue for inviting us to join the training and to The Wright Event for use of their facilities.

This weekend found us at the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride. Our responders were out marshalling along the route with volunteers from Kent Search and Rescue and Sussex Search and Rescue ensuring the safety of the riders. Well done to all those riders who took part!

Two of our responders were out helping Kent Search and Rescue teams with transportation in the search for a high risk missing person. The person was found safe and well, a positive outcome for all.

Three of our responders have been out supporting Kent Search and Rescue with road searches and transportation for their teams to and from search areas in the Bluebell Hill area. Sadly, on this occasion, there wasn't a positive outcome to the search.

We were delighted to welcome Trevor Sayer from SERV Kent Bloodrunners Volunteers who gave a talk at our monthly meeting. He outlined how SERV, Service by Emergency Response, was formed, how they operate and who they work with. £46.64 was raised at the meeting with a further donation of £50 from South East 4x4 Response to help towards the costs of the charity.
