A further three responders attended The Wright Event this weekend to gain their British Off Road Driving Association (BORDA) qualification. This marks the fifth weekend that this valuable training programme has been delivered.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Paul, our Vice Chairman and a qualified BORDA BST, for generously giving his time and expertise to run the course. We are also extremely grateful to The Wright Event, one of our major sponsors, for providing the use of their excellent facilities at Ashtree Farm.
Francis: "Absolutely great course and brilliantly given by Paul. Even with some experience with off-roading certainly learnt a lot generally and specifically about my vehicle. There was a lot of just let the clutch out and it will drive across that 500ft chasm. Tick over through that lake, sharp right and up that vertical cliff…"
James: "Absolutely bang on Francis - and I’ll confess now that I was impressed at the way my Defender went up that slope! Now I want to do more of the same, but just in mine. Really capable vehicles for sure."
South East 4x4 Response is proud to fund this training for members who wish to become BORDA assessed, ensuring our responders continue to develop the specialist skills required to support our communities and partner agencies.
Recent success on the British Off Road Driving Association course saw a further 2 certificates awarded to those who had recently achieved the award. Beginning with classroom learning about their own vehicle capabilities and limitations, before a session out on the off road course. Our thanks to our Vice Chairman for running the course and to The Wright Event, one of our main sponsors, for the use of their facilities.

The third group of three responders recently completed a day's British Off Road Driving Association (BORDA) Standard training at Ashtree Farm, home of our sponsor, The Wright Event. Following the recent heavy rain the off road course presented challenging conditions for drivers. We are fortunate in having, Paul, our Vice Chair, who is a BORDA BST, on our team.
