Responders supported the Movember event at Brogdale, Faversham, hosted by Pegasus Garage. A lovely event in support of the annual November campaign raising awareness of men's health issues, including prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Thank you to the responders who supported the event.

Team members joined Kent Search and Rescue for a training exercise at our major sponsor, The Wright Event. Search teams were formed covering a specific area looking for clues and reporting finds back to control. The scene was then managed. Training together gives us a clearer understanding of the work that Kent Search and Rescue do to enable us to support in the best way possible. Thank you to Kent Search and Rescue for inviting us to join the training and to The Wright Event for use of their facilities.

Congratulations to our 4 new members who completed their initial training over the two days of the weekend. Welcome to our team!

This weekend saw a number of existing members update their competency training, which takes place every two years.

Two of our responders were out again at the weekend towing the Sittingbourne Carnival Court's Wicked float for their final appearance of the year in Faversham. Well done to all involved with the Sittingbourne Carnival Court as they were awarded 1st Place - Most Outstanding Award along with 1st Place - Tableau (Overall Float, Chaperones and Court) at the final event. Congratulations!

Our major sponsor, The Wright Event, kindly hosted our meeting this month. We were able to use their facilities to make refreshments along with the interactive screen for a quick training session.

Thank you to the Weald of Kent ploughing Association for mentioning us in an article in the South East Farmer magazine about the recent Weald of Kent ploughing match. We were very happy to support and help drivers who found the muddy terrain a challenge with traction assistance or a push as needed.

The Heart of Kent Hospice Moonlight Walk took place last night in Cobham Park, Maidstone. Our team were there manning marshal points to ensure that the walkers were able to follow the correct route, particularly once darkness fell. A good event for all!

The firework season has started as we head into Autumn. Our first this year was at Northiam where our responders manned road closures to ensure the safety of the many families enjoying the parade, bonfire and the spectacular fireworks. All went well despite Storm Amy.

A few of our team hosted members from Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response for an exchange of ideas and knowledge today. A good event, great meeting their team, and we look forward to liaising further in the future.
