Fourteen of our members, acting as marshals, supported The Monty Peters Historic Sporting Trial at The Wright Event, our major sponsor. It was a fun day for the 56 competitors involved as historic sports cars raced around an off road track. Although a dry morning, previous rainfall plus further rainfall towards the end of the event made the track slightly challenging for the historic vehicles.

We would like to say thank you for the very kind donation given to us by Borden Wives, a group which includes ladies from both the parishes of Borden and Tunstall, following a talk given by two of our responders on our charitable works across the communities of Medway and Kent.

A social drive out to Essex saw members along with family visiting Kelvedon Hatch Nuclear Bunker. A fascinating few hours touring the bunker with plenty of social moments for chats. What a fascinating few hours; a great time was had by all. Our thanks to Mike Parrish and his team for having us.

Our Chairman along with one of our responders networking at the Kent Association of Local Councils event, which took place in the Corn Exchange, Rochester. It was an opportunity to share how we might offer support during adverse weather, for instance, as part of a local council's resilience plan. The Mayor of Medway chatted with our Chairman about what South East 4x4 Response has to offer to the communities of Medway and Kent.

Whilst leaving an event, responders came across a multi-vehicle collision. Responders checked all involved were ok along with providing a safe area and slowing passing traffic until the police arrived.

The fundraising and the event teams were busy all day at the Sittingbourne Christmas Lights event with record crowds attending the tombola and cake stalls. Thank you to all who came to support us, it was an amazing end to our fundraising season. An event enjoyed by all.

Chief Inspector Andy Brittenden presenting our chairman, David and our Quartermaster, Mark with 10 trauma kits kindly donated by Kent Police. These kits are a vital resource for our chainsaw operatives and trailers during the winter storm season.

Responders were on standby over the weekend of the Leeds Castle Fireworks to assist those attending the fireworks should their vehicles become hampered by difficult ground conditions. Fortunately on this occasion the ground was dry as the weather held off further rainfall. All were able to leave swiftly without hinderance. A wonderful firework display enjoyed by all.

"At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we shall remember them."

For the twelfth year in succession South East 4x4 Response supported road closures during the Chatham Remembrance Parade Service.

Every year the Golden Shackle is awarded at one of our monthly meetings to a responder who goes above and beyond. This year the Golden Shackle was awarded by our Quartermaster, Mark, to our Chairman, David, for driving to Woburn Center Parc to collect one of our family members, his family, along with his car which had broken down. The last holder of the Golden Shackle, also at this "rescue", had travelled down through France to bring a member and his son back to the UK following an accident in a previous year.

South East 4x4 Response are unable to respond directly to assistance requests from members of the public.
