As our Chairman, David’s role is primarily to make sure the group is doing all it can to provide our partners and the community in general with the best possible service, by overseeing each member’s role and advising or assisting wherever possible. The Chairman also chairs the group’s committee meetings and the trustees’ meetings along with liaising with our partner organisations, Kent Police, the NHS, Kent Search and Rescue etc. In addition, he attends regular meetings of the Kent Resilience Forum and liaises with our national body, 4x4 Response UK.
As a responder, operational commander and strategic commander he attends emergency call outs, providing logistical support to numerous agencies. He provides training during our competencies weekends, specialising in map reading and regularly attends fund raising events and social events for the group.
David has been a member of the group since 2018 and has previously been the finance officer before taking on his current role.
