Our major sponsor, The Wright Event, kindly hosted our meeting this month. We were able to use their facilities to make refreshments along with the interactive screen for a quick training session.
We were delighted to welcome Trevor Sayer from SERV Kent Bloodrunners Volunteers who gave a talk at our monthly meeting. He outlined how SERV, Service by Emergency Response, was formed, how they operate and who they work with. £46.64 was raised at the meeting with a further donation of £50 from South East 4x4 Response to help towards the costs of the charity.
Our AGM saw the appointment of a new treasurer for the group along with annual reports given from all the committee members who highlighted key developments during the previous year. A raffle for second hand digital radios, kindly donated by Bexley Council, gave the 5 winning members the opportunity to have their own radio. The proceeds went to boost our charity funds.
We were pleased to meet 6 lovely people at Mickey's Diner this week who came to find out what we do, ask questions and decide whether they wish to join us. A detailed chat ensued, information given along with application form detail. We are expecting at least 4 to follow through and join us as volunteers once the Kent Police vetting procedure has been processed. Our next Meet n Greet will be on 9 July 2025, time and venue to be confirmed.
