The Heart of Kent Hospice held their 33rd Bluebell Walk in the Harrietsham area with some 500 walkers taking part. South East 4x4 Responders were pleased to support with transportation to and from marshalling points for the marshals and their equipment before the walk began and at the end.

A group of our responders, along with the police in their own vehicle, carried out a successful training exercise for emergency evacuation along the seawall of the Thames estuary on behalf of Medway Council.

Our fundraising team were delighted to support the St George's Day Celebration at Beachfields Park, Sheerness this weekend. Local councillors came to visit our stall too, lovely to welcome them and share what we do as a group.

South East 4x4 Response volunteers supporting the Emergency Services Day were pleased to welcome people to our stall. Whilst there the team were able to have a number of our chainsaws security marked by the rural police. A very enjoyable day to support.

South East 4x4 Response volunteers braved the icy northerly winds at Detling Heritage Transport Show to begin our year of fundraising for our non-profit charity. A number of our volunteers' 4x4 vehicles were on display for the public to view. People visiting our display chanced their luck with the Tombola to win prizes. We were delighted to swap stickers with two young visitors, one of ours for another stall's sticker from Sticky Monkey.

David Mills, our CEO, was invited by the Rotary Club of the Weald of Kent to give a presentation explaining the ethos of South East 4x4 Response in supporting our key partners and the communities of Kent. Thank you to the rotary club for their kind donation.

South East 4x4 Response volunteers were on hand during the Leeds Castle National Lottery Day to assist any vehicles which might need traction assistance owing to difficult terrain or slippery car park surfaces. No support was required on this occasion.

South East 4x4 Response members have been supporting the Heart of Kent Maidstone Run 2025 this weekend with road closures to ensure runners were kept safe on their 5k/10k runs whilst the event took place. We were very thankful for the support given by volunteers from Kent Search and Rescue along with SERV Kent Blood Runners who supported us with the many Heart of Kent Run road closures.

Santa has had support from South East 4x4 Response volunteers in both Borough Green and Sittingbourne with transport and sleigh rounds to see the children.

South East 4x4 Response teams were out most of the weekend supporting Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR) along with Kent Police, looking for a missing person in the vicinity of the Sittingbourne area. Transport was provided for the many KSAR search teams along with the search dogs, to and from woodland areas. All were extremely grateful to the Salvation Army who provided sustenance and to the Red Lion in Milstead who were happy for us to use their facilities - a great team spirit from many agencies.
